Investment trust Isa purchases were up 33% in the second quarter of 2003, to £21.62m, compared to sales of £16.3m in the first quarter. However the sales figures were down 41% from the second quarter of 2002, when £36.94m worth of Isas were sold, according to AITC figures. AITC director general Daniel Godfrey said it was encouraging that more investors were prepared to invest in the second quarter, but after three years of a bear market it was not surprising the annual figures suggested many were taking a wait-and-see approach.
