The total purchases of investment trust Isas decreased in 2001 by 32%, falling from £228.4m in 2000 to £155.8m. Sales of investment trust Isas provided by the trusts themselves fell in the fourth quarter by 15% from the third quarter 2001, dropping from £17.6m to £14.9m. The total purchases in investment trust saving schemes in 2001 decreased 30% from £395.8m in 2000 to £275.2m.
