Threadneedle is looking to enter the absolute return bond fund market with a launch in the third quarter of this year. The global fund, likely to launch under the group's Ucits III umbrella in September, will use derivatives and, according to Threadneedle's director of product development, Mary Blair, will fall somewhere between a long-only and hedge fund structure.
