The British Property Federation has urged the Government to speed up the introduction of an UK Reit to avoid the product being derailed by the General Election. The trade body claims accessible commercial property funds could be a useful tool for private investors and small pension funds and are a possible solution to the UK pensions gap. The Government is expected to announce its plans for Reits, also known as Property Investment Funds, some time before the next Budget in March.
