Chancellor Gordon Brown's recent budget failed to include what most of the investment industry were hoping for: a pledge to abandon plans to abolish the remaining 10% tax credit on UK dividends within Peps and Isas. Isis has campaigned long and hard to persuade the Chancellor not to scrap the tax credit because we believe that it will send a negative signal to an already demoralised set of investors.
