A disparity in performance approaching 90% between best and worst funds over three years reveals old favourites at the top of the sector
The performance disparity between the top and bottom funds in the UK Equity Income sector over three years was almost 90% to the end of January. The worst fund, New Star UK Strategic, made a bid to bid loss of 24.91% and the best performer, Marlborough UK Equity Income, grew by 64.4%. Sixty-six funds in the sector with three-year track records showed gains for the entire period under examination, with growth for the top funds ranging from 34.03% to 64.4%, well above the sector mean of 22.3%.
