F&C’s high-conviction emerging market offering is topping its peer group over one and three years after a manager change in 2007. Run by Gareth Morgan, Emerging Markets ex-Pacific Asia is among the few in the sector that excludes Asia and the Pacific Basin. The manager, who replaced Jonathan Taube last year, attributes strong performance to asset allocation, with stock selection a secondary factor. “While developed markets struggled with the credit crunch fallout, emerging regions demonstrated more resilience,” Morgan said.
