New Star has appointed Simon Hillenbrand as managing director of UK retail sales. He replaces Phil Wagstaff who has moved to Gartmore as global head of distribution. Up to now Hillenbrand was responsible for New Star’s London-based discretionary clients and other account relationships for over five years. He was previously a regional sales manager at Invesco Perpetual and Morgan Grenfell. Mark Little takes over Hillenbrand’s role as regional sales director for London, moving from his role as director of investment services.
