Three Active Managed portfolios were upgraded by Standard & Poor’s in its annual review of the managed funds sector, which includes fund of funds. The Aviva Multimanager Sterling Equity Growth fund moved from AA status to AAA(new), F&C’s Multi Manager Growth fund moved from newly covered to a single A rating while M&G’s fettered fund of funds rose from A to AA. According to S&P, the M&G portfolio has benefited since the appointment of David Jane as head of equities in 2002, which has lead to improvements across the range.
