New Star has appointed Edward Collins to manage the equity portion of the firm’s Tri-Star unit trust instead of Stephen Whittaker. He will co-manage the equity element of the vehicle with Whittaker and will assume full responsibility later in the year. Collins took over management of the offshore UK Dynamic Fund on 28 February 2006. The Tri-Star fund was launched last July and invests in corporate bonds, UK equities and UK commercial property.
