Gerald Smith is expected to step down as manager of the Pacific Horizon investment trust early next year as he becomes a director. Baillie Gifford has therefore named Mike Gush as co-manager with immediate and he will take over from Smith from next February. Smith has been manager of Pacific Horizon since 1995 but the group said it uses a team-based approach to stockpicking and co-management should ensure a smooth transition.
