Political uncertainty in the UK could bring further short-term volatility to the market, according to Neptune’s founder Robin Geffen. He said Gordon Brown has been on the receiving end of some bad media and the popular press would like to see a proper contest for the prime minister’s position. “This may not be positive for the market but I do not see, economically, a huge shift over who takes the power at Number 10.” Despite this, Geffen’s long-term view is more upbeat. “I do not expect a bonanza for equities this year but there are still parts of the market where there is true value....
