Scottish Widows is the latest group to announce lower with-profits performance over 2007, with 5% pre-tax compared to 10% the previous year. The group upped the £17bn fund’s equity-backing ratio (EBR) over the year, boosting its UK and international equity allocations by 1% each. Along with 12% in property, the portfolio held 44% in UK shares and 10 in non-UK at the end of last year. The remainder is spread across 29% fixed interest and 5% in other investments.
