New Star is targeting £5bn in assets in its International Property fund by 2010 and is poised to make £0.5bn in Asian real estate purchases by the close of 2008. The group’s International Property fund has so far raised around £450m and has been growing at a rate of around £100m a month since its launch in June this year. The group’s real estate head Stuart Webster said the fund is close to buying four commercial properties in Japan, another four in Australia, two in Hong Kong as well as an office building each in South Korea and Singapore.
