Polar Capital has been handed the £10m mandate on Skandia’s UK Strategic Best Ideas fund, replacing Threadneedle. It is understood Skandia has been reconsidering Threadneedle’s holding since the departure of manager Paul Findley in July. Polar Capital’s share of the £102m fund will be run by Phil Hardy, Polar Capital’s lead manager on the UK equity team who has experience of both UK equities and hedge fund management.
