Resolution has withdrawn its support for a takeover bid by Standard Life and Swiss Re. The move follows a bid by Pearl for the life insurer late on Friday and the raising of its stake in Resolution to 24.2%. Resolution said it was still interested in tying up with Standard Life and Swiss Re, though in the circumstances it could no longer recommend the bid tabled last week.
