Hugh Hendry’s boutique Eclectica has soft launched a vehicle seeking to take advantage of momentum trends in the UK market. UK Relative Momentum is based on the premise that funds outperform if the market agrees with the manager’s decisions, rather than through intellectual or emotional stockpicking. Manager Tim Arengo-Jones uses a quants screen that looks at stock performance compared to other FTSE 350 companies, with no fundamental research involved.
