The FTSE 100 looks set to close the week higher following another mixed day for the insurance sector, with the blue-chip index currently 42.89 points higher (1.16%) to 3,754.95. Xstrata, Land Securities Group and Barclays have been jostling for poll position, posting gains of 10.5%, 8% and 6% respectively. Legal & General has continued to add to its share price, soaring in afternoon trading, 7.59% higher.
