Gartmore's fixed income co-head Karl Bergqwist and UK Focus fund co-manager Ashley Willing are likely to leave the firm following discussions with the company this week, Investment Week has learned. Bergqwist has been joint manager of the Gartmore Corporate Bond fund with Simon Surtees since 2005. The fund is down 22.8% over one year to 28 November 2008, and 23.3% down over three years, according to Lipper figures. Other retail funds Bergqwist manages are the Gartmore High Yield Corporate Bond fund, down 22.8% over one year and the Gartmore UK Long dated Gilt, up 7.1% over the same period...
