Nolan Hoffmeyer, co-manager of the Pictet Digital fund, tells Anna Fedorova about how he got into fund management, the advantages of running a fund focused on digital innovation, and the key challenges he has faced in the role.

Nolan Hoffmeyer joined Pictet Asset Management straight out of university, having already chosen his career path when he decided to study financial engineering, but he developed his passion for thematic investing on the job. He started at the prominent Swiss asset manager in 2012 as an intern, having just completed his Masters degree, and was subsequently moved to the thematic equities team to work on various projects. The young analyst soon discovered he liked the thematic approach, and in March 2013 took up a position on the £1.3bn Pictet Digital fund, which he co-manages with Sylvi...
