Taking over as CIO at the UK’s seventh largest fund group by AUM at the start of 2011, Mark Burgess’ initial starting point was simple; to change as little as possible. Formerly head of equities at Legal & General, Burgess had recognised prior to his arrival at Threadneedle that the group’s strong performance across most asset classes was a clear signal of its strengths.
