Investment Week rounds up the most memorable quotes from our favourite (and most outspoken) industry commentators throughout 2012.

First on the list is SVM co-founder Colin McLean, who in March showed some surprising optimism for the way equity markets were heading. With the FTSE 100 trading at 5,965 on March 16, he predicted the index would jump another 8% in the second quarter to reach 6,500.
