Michael Konstantinov, manager of the Allianz RCM BRIC Stars fund, explains why, despite a good start to the year, there is still significant upside potential in the emerging markets.

This year has started with a bang for emerging markets with the MSCI Emerging Markets Index up 14.2% by mid-February and the MSCI BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) up by an even more impressive 17.89%. This has all meant that emerging markets have seen their best start of the year since 2001. This rally has the potential to continue throughout 2012, should key drivers stay in place and possible risks remain muted. If this is the case,investors should consider allocating wisely into emerging markets to ensure they are able to capture the potential continuation of this risk rally. ...
