Having just reached the first anniversary of its launch, the Goldman Sachs US Equity Absolute Return portfolio provides a route, through a Ucits structure, to access the US equity market.

It leverages the best investment ideas of Goldman Sachs’ US value equity team. The goal of the fund is to succeed in both rising and falling markets with lower volatility than the equity market as well as low correlation with all major asset classes. The fund, which is currently based on weekly dealing, has a five-year track record in a non-Ucits vehicle. Investment Week spoke to manager Sean Gallagher to find out what makes the fund tick.
