I admit it. I am prejudiced against bond funds. Not because I think the managers are stupid. I just think they're too exciting. Little old widow Ginny Jones needs to squeeze as much income as she can out of her inadequate capital. She needs capital security and a high income. She needs bonds. But when her money goes into a typical corporate bond fund, what does she get? A whole stack of risks which I'm barely able to comprehend and monitor, let alone her.
