Emergent Asset Management is planning an April launch for the Emergent EM Real Estate Development fund. The vehicle will buy up large tracts of land in developing markets, with its initial activity focused entirely on Turkey, where it already has a number of targets. Susan Payne, Emergent's CEO, said it is also looking at Africa for future development opportunities. The fund will buy large plots of land and develop them in partnership with local developers and hotel groups, Payne said.
