Hedge fund managers and investors added more than $9bn in new capital to emerging market vehicles last year, bringing total assets to over $110bn. According to a recent report from Hedge Fund Research (HFR), the number of funds dedicated to investing in emerging markets increased to over 950 last year. Overall, hedge funds collected $194bn in new assets in 2007, bringing total industry assets under management to $1.87trn.
