Specialist proved to be one of the most difficult sectors to judge, consisting, as it does, of Fofs with different regional and country investment mandates and, in two cases, funds of bond funds. The panel set up the Specialist category to look at those funds that have a limited number of peers, too limited in number to justify a separate category for them within the awards process.
