The severe hurricanes experienced by the US last year had a confusing effect on the country's unemployment figures though signs of an economic slowdown are evident. The US Bureau of Labour Statistics (BLS) notes it has, to some extent, taken account of a large number of people who may now be unemployed as a result of being forced to relocate following the mass evacuations of New Orleans.However, the flipside of this is that the rebuilding process combined with the mild weather experienced by much of the West Coast at the beginning of this year has resulted in the creation of a large number...
