Manager makes his own rules after taking over sidelined income funds
Charles Deptford has led the Barings Equity Income fund to a top quartile position after taking over the vehicle, together with the UK Equity Growth fund, in August 2004. Equity Income has made bid-to-bid returns of 70.8% over three years to 30 October compared to the UK Equity Income sector's 66.4%, putting it in 17th position out of 73 funds, according to Standard & Poor's.
