Virgin to bring green investing into the mainstream

GLG management team runs companies held in Climate Change Leaders vehicle through green filter to find those with lighter carbon footprints

Virgin hopes to encourage companies to employ a greener approach to business by launching its first actively managed vehicle, Climate Change Leaders. The vehicle is headed up by GLG Partners, a group better known in the hedge fund space. It is a mirror of the group's Environment fund, which in turn is a green version of its European Equity offering. The founding partner of GLG Pierre Lagrange works with manager Ben Funnell and analyst Adeline Diab on the portfolio, supported by a 40-strong European equity team.
