Old Mutual's Michael Gifford thanks his proximity to mid- and small-cap stars Dan Nickols and Ashton Bradbury for sturdy results since adopting the group's equity income offering. The manager has adopted a mid-cap slant on £48m Equity Income, which he took over from Suresh Sadasivan in July 2006.
