Numis: Private investors shift to profitability as recessionary fears persist

Opportunities despite slowdown

60% of private market investors intend to increase new investment over the next six months, according to new research by Numis, with many now prioritising profitability over growth.

A survey of 30 leading growth investors within private markets, including BlackRock, Softbank and Andreessen Horowitz, revealed investors were erring on the side of caution, shifting focus towards cashflow positive businesses. According to Numis, appetite amongst this cohort persists, driven by dry powder presenting a window of opportunity for companies with steady fundamentals.
