AssetCo CEO Campbell Fleming looks to another year filled with deals

R&M acquisition a key priority

After a bumper year of acquisitions, with four firms coming fully or partly under the brand new AssetCo umbrella in the nine months since Martin Gilbert was confirmed chair, the newest kid on the asset management block has no intention of slowing down.

Speaking to Investment Week, CEO Campbell Fleming, who joined the firm in September, explained that 2022 would be another year of complementary acquisitions, as the company seeks to build out its "patchwork quilt of capabilities". "If we can repeat what we did last year, with a number of additional transactions that are complementary and bolt-on, that will be good," Fleming said, adding that completing its recent £100m acquisition of River and Mercantile was "a key priority" for the fledgling firm in 2022.
