American Century hires Schroders' Hughes as ESG head

American Century Investments has named former Schroders employee Sarah Bratton Hughes as its new senior vice president and head of ESG and sustainable investing.

Hughes, who previously worked as the global head of sustainability solutions for Schroders, will also lead American Century's ESG and Investment Stewardship team. Hughes will be responsible for driving and executing American Century's sustainable investing strategy, while managing the firm's ESG research platform and active ownership practices.
