There is no doubt the leave vote has shaken the markets and funds exposed to UK property have taken the biggest hit. Despite the doom and gloom, however, there is optimism Brexit could bring some positive changes for the fund management sector in the future.

Facing the new reality that dawned on 23 June has been a painful experience for fund managers and investors. As most share prices continue to tumble and investor caution grows, it is likely that there will be more uncertainty and instability to come. About half of the UK property funds have suspended trading temporarily following a sharp rise in redemptions and others are cutting charges on equity funds in a bid to remain competitive.
