How will investors view 2015? They appear to have been riding a rollercoaster of hopes and fears, from the highs of the FTSE 100 breaking 7,000 in March, to the lows of August's Black Monday sell-off.

Political risks have dominated the agenda and Investment Week's front pages this year. Concerns about Greece being forced out of the euro have been replaced by fears of a potential Brexit from the European Union, with the 'Yes' and 'No' camps finely balanced going into 2016. Meanwhile, the introduction of pensions freedoms in April prompted a number of launches. The big question now is which funds can thrive in this highly competitive environment?
