In the new world of investing that is emerging ahead of RDR, a number of key skills are likely to be of value.

The first is asset allocation, which one might broadly define as understanding how to build a diversified portfolio sensibly. I for one am hoping good discretionary managers will be able to command hefty premiums for demonstrating real expertise in this area.
