Richard Saunders, chief executive of the Investment Management Association (IMA), outlines why the organisation changed the name of its Managed sectors to fall into line with the Association of British Insurers (ABI) fund categories.
Keen followers of the industry will recall the mixed reception we got when announcing proposals following our review of the IMA Managed sectors in June. We are today announcing the outcome of the further consultations we have been holding. We have taken time to sit down with the ABI, and I am pleased to report that we have reached agreement on harmonising our respective Managed sectors, both their definitions and their names.
