The M&G Recovery fun was launched on the 14th May 1969, attracted around £200,000 during its short offer period. The fund currently stands in the region of £3.2bn and is rare in being one of the few funds with a 40-year track record. On an annualised basis it has achieved a return of 15.1% since launch compared to the FTSE All Share's return of 10.4%, or in nominal terms £1,000 invested at launch would be worth just over £269,000, compared to £55,000 from the FTSE All Share or just over £10,000 from the building society.
