Is there really a place for the investment trust industry? It is a question that has been asked continually over the last 20 years but some how the sector just won't die. Investment Week would argue there is a place for investment trusts and investors and intermediaries would be far worse off should closed ended funds disappear. For satellite and specialist investments such as emerging markets and Asia there is clearly a place for them.
