Should fund managers donate their bonus to charity? That was exactly the question Peter Hain, the Government's Northern Ireland secretary, posed recently. He, of course, wasn't asking the question, he was actually saying that a significant proportion of bonuses should go to charity. And he wasn't picking on just poor old fund managers, he was thinking of all those other City folk - and I guess by extension anyone who earns a lot of money and works in financial services.
