In less than two months, the European Union will throw open its borders, taking on 10 new members, from Estonia in the far north to Malta in the south. The entry of Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Greek part of Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Malta will swell the EU to 25 countries with 450 million citizens.
