The Liberal Democrats occasionally peer over the financial services parapets but contribute nothing to the debate. They have done so again recently - this time with CTFs. According to Vince Cable, the Liberals' shadow chancellor, the party wants the trust funds scrapped. He said recently: "We need the money to be spent on young people now, not to be locked away for 18 years." Why?
