A think-tank, Tomorrow's Company, has recently reported on the future of the financial services industry and, unlike most authors of such reports, rather than sit back and bask in the 'glory' of their efforts, the report's authors, decided to face the music and take questions on their conclusions (see page 24 and 25 of this week's issue). The authors, Sir Richard Sykes, the former chairman of GlaxoSmithKline, and the think-tank's director, Mark Godyer, thankfully avoided placing the blame at any one segment of the market, which is, in itself, a relief for advisers and fund managers.
