High oil prices, a high gold price, concern about power supplies, a war in the Middle East, a banking crisis, nationalisation/privatisation, a Labour government, uncertainty about Russia, everyone trying to be China's friend, a lame duck American President, Leeds United being universally unpopular and a recession. Doesn't all this bring the 1970s flooding back? Anyone remember having a bath in a metal tub in front of a fire in the front room because there was no hot water?
