The other day I received my mailshot through the post from Fidelity promoting the new Global Special Situations fund.Looking at the Fidelity literature, two things occurred to me. First, in terms of the whole special situations franchise, two groups have clearly dominated the market in the past 30 years - Fidelity and M&G. To my mind, M&G invented the concept in the 70s with its Recovery fund which was what we all called a turnaround.
