'Sorry' and 'tax' seem to be the words we are hearing the most often at the moment. David Cameron is apologising for things he has not done - which is a line right out of a song by his favourite pop group The Jam. ('Stop apologising for the things you haven't done, because time is short' - Town Called Malice), while Gordon Brown got as close to an apology as he can in a turgid interview in the Guardian (don't bother looking it up).
