Richard Branson didn't get to be a billionaire without having an acute sense of the changing tastes and perceptions of the public so it is interesting that he intends to donate all the proceeds from the Virgin Group's transportation units to fight climate change. It is possible that Branson is really worried about global warming and would like to do something about it. It is, however, just as plausible that the man who controls Virgin anticipates a backlash against the industry as airlines are called to account for causing irreparable environmental damage.
