Our grousing columnist Lawrence Gosling said last week the debate was IHT versus stamp duty, while at the same time think tank The Bow Group was suggesting going further. It proposes abolishing what it calls 'gimmicky tax breaks' such as Isas, Peps, VCTs, Tessas, EISs and film schemes alongside removing CGT and stamp duty from share disposals.
